Owner Jaime Alvarado was born and raised in Mexico, where trips to the local Michoacana were a special part of growing up. The flavors, colors, and tradition of handcrafted paletas, ice cream, and aguas frescas created memories that stayed with him for years.
When Jaime moved to Arizona, he wanted to bring that same experience to his new community. What began as a dream to share a taste of home became a family business built around authentic recipes, fresh ingredients, and warm hospitality.
Today, La Michoacana AZ is a place where families, friends, and neighbors come together to enjoy the flavors of Mexico. From fresh fruit paletas and creamy ice cream to mangonadas, tostilocos, and aguas frescas, everything is made with the same care and pride that inspired Jaime from the beginning.
Every visit is about more than dessert. It is about creating moments, sharing traditions, and making everyone feel like part of the family.
Our Roots
The tradition of La Michoacana began in the state of Michoacán, Mexico, where families have been crafting paletas, ice cream, and frozen treats for generations. Using recipes passed down through families, every paleta is made with real fruit, fresh milk, and natural ingredients.
When we brought this tradition to Arizona, we kept everything authentic — the recipes, the care, the passion. Every scoop, every paleta, every mangonada tells a story of Mexican culture, community, and a love for sweets that brings people together.
